Ane Nordmo Svendsen, born in 1991, was promoted to black belt in 2020 under GFTeam Norway and quickly settled into the upper bracket of European female no-gi. Her breakthrough came in 2023 in Warsaw, where she won the 1st ADCC European Trials at +65 kg and qualified for the ADCC World Championship the following year.
At the 2025 IBJJF No-Gi Worlds she took silver at black belt medium-heavy, losing the final to American Helena Crevar after a tournament-long run of clean wins; she added silver at the 2025 IBJJF European No-Gi and double gold at the 2022 IBJJF Rome International Open.
In an era when Norway is producing an unusually strong cohort of female grapplers, Svendsen is the one who has spent the most time on ADCC and IBJJF podiums at the heavier end of the bracket.
