Cecilie Maria Bolander reached MMA from a grappling base most fighters can only dream of: a judo black belt with seven Norwegian championships, a World Cup and European Championship medal in Amateur MMA, and silver at the Amateur MMA World Championships. She trains under Emran Sakhizada at Norwegian Top Team.
In professional MMA she is the Oktagon Bantamweight Champion, defending her title at Oktagon 74 to push her pro record to 4-2. Her signature is the armbar: six of seven amateur submissions and two of three pro wins by armbar — the kind of pattern that draws Ronda Rousey comparisons whether she likes them or not.
A BJJ blue belt within an ecosystem dominated by judoka, her path is a reminder that Norwegian grappling has always been a multi-discipline conversation.
