Celine Haga, born in 1981, came up in Oslo after being born in Korea, and built a fighting career that took her further from home than almost any Norwegian female combat athlete of her generation. She relocated to Japan to train under Megumi Fujii — one of the most decorated female MMA fighters in history — before moving permanently to Albuquerque to fight out of Jackson Wink MMA for more than five years.
Her career included professional bouts across Japan, the United States and Spain, and put her on cards in three different MMA ecosystems during years when female fighters were still scarce on almost all of them.
As a BJJ purple belt embedded in one of the most respected MMA gyms in the world, her decision to leave Norway permanently is itself part of the Norwegian story. She is one of the country's longest-serving female fight expatriates and a reminder that the Norwegian scene has produced exporters as well as importers.
