Biography
Diego Oliveira Batista, known as "Pato" — Portuguese for duck, a childhood nickname — is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from Parintins, Amazonas, promoted by Cicero Costha in 2019. Competing for Art of Jiu-Jitsu (AOJ) under the Mendes Brothers, he has amassed six IBJJF World titles across gi and no-gi divisions. In 2025, Pato achieved the exceedingly rare IBJJF Grand Slam by winning gold at the Europeans, Pan-Americans, Brasileiros, and Worlds — defeating two-time ADCC champion Diogo Reis in the World Championship final. His 2025 Grand Slam came alongside AOJ teammate Tainan Dalpra, who accomplished the same feat in a heavier division, marking an unprecedented double Grand Slam for a single academy.
