Eirik Gulbrandsen runs the inland Norwegian half of the Kimura Nordic system as head instructor at both Kimura Lillehammer and Kimura Hamar, in the Nova União / Kimura lineage. His own competition record is one of the more international among Norwegian black belts based outside Oslo and Bergen.
He took gold at the 2016 Nordic BJJ Open and the 2016 and 2017 Swedish Open in the Master 1 -76 kg bracket, added silver at the 2018 Swedish Open, and travelled to Brazil to win the Lightweight Grand Prix Super Fight at Copa Podio in 2017 — a result that put a Norwegian inland instructor on a Rio stage normally dominated by Brazilian regulars.
For Lillehammer and Hamar, Gulbrandsen is the practitioner who keeps a credible, competition-grade BJJ pipeline alive inside Innlandet county.
