Hans-Petter Pettersen built one of the central BJJ institutions on the Norwegian west coast. As founder and general manager of Xfit Stavanger and the Stavanger MMA Center, he has run the day-to-day administration of the Rogaland scene for the better part of two decades, alongside a competition record that gives his coaching real weight.
His own results sit at the top of the Norwegian Master tier: three European Championships in BJJ and silver at the Abu Dhabi Pro Master World Championships. Those medals were collected at the level that separates regional black belts from internationally competitive ones, and they sit behind his authority in the Stavanger room.
For Rogaland — a region that has produced Julia Mæle and Muslim Patsarigov among others — Pettersen is one of the long-running anchors who kept the local infrastructure intact while the international competitors came up.
