Biography
Ida "Xuxu" Fløisvik grew up on a farm outside Stavanger, Norway, where she developed her work ethic helping her mother tend sheep and pursuing horse riding from age three. She entered Brazilian jiu-jitsu and competed in her first tournament after just 40 days of training, winning the European championship at blue belt. Her rapid rise continued through the colored belts, earning titles at the Rio Open, Rome Open, and Pan American championships. As a brown belt she was invited to the prestigious Copa Podio event in Brazil, where she defeated Kessy Pereira 9-2, becoming one of the first Scandinavian women to compete on that stage. At black belt, Fløisvik claimed the IBJJF New York Open absolute gold and an IBJJF European Championship silver medal. She trains under Felipe "Gargamel" Mota at Roger Gracie Norway in Stavanger and has been sponsored by Kingz Europe. Known for her physical strength as a super-heavyweight competitor and her CrossFit-style training regimen, Fløisvik has been a pioneering figure for Norwegian women in international BJJ competition.
