Joel Gingery was one of the top competitors in jiu-jitsu's Masters Division during the 2010 decade when he conquered numerous tournaments of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), after an illustrious career in judo. In BJJ, Gingery beat legends of the sport such as Júlio César Pereira, Egan Inoue, 'Megaton' Dias, or Nelson Monteiro.
