Kenneth Tronerud has been on the Frontline mats since January 2013, working steadily up to brown belt under Nic Ruben Nikolaisen in 2023. The progression matters less than what he does with the rank: he is the lead instructor for the bulk of the schedule at Frontline Academy Drammen, teaching intermediate, advanced and youth BJJ classes.
In 2025 he launched the academy's daytime BJJ programme — an unusual offering for a regional Norwegian gym, and one that has expanded who can actually walk through the door and train during a working week.
Inside the Frontline network, where black belts like Nikolaisen carry the marquee profile, instructors like Tronerud do the day-to-day teaching that determines whether students stay on the mats long enough to reach belt promotions themselves. In Drammen that work is largely his.
