Martin Sikveland co-leads the Kimura Hamar and Kimura Lillehammer programmes alongside Eirik Gulbrandsen in the Nova União / Kimura lineage. The two black belts together cover the technical and organisational load of the inland Norwegian half of the Kimura system, with Sikveland holding a notable share of the day-to-day teaching at both schools.
He is also an active competitor on the Scandinavian Smoothcomp circuit — the modern backbone of regional BJJ tournaments — which keeps the Hamar and Lillehammer rooms connected to a live competition rhythm rather than purely recreational.
Inside an inland Norwegian region that has historically been thin on dedicated BJJ rooms, Sikveland's long-running partnership with Gulbrandsen is one of the main reasons there is now serious black-belt instruction in the area.
