Nick R. Cleppe owns and runs Victus MMA out of Solør / Elverum, in the eastern inland part of Norway where serious BJJ rooms are still relatively thin on the ground. The gym sits in the Next Generation MMA affiliation and is part of the BJJ Globetrotters network, giving a regional Norwegian club an unusually broad international back-catalogue of training partners.
His belt history reflects the same internationalism. He took blue belt under Dean Lister in 2013 and purple belt under Chris Brennan in 2016 — two of the more recognisable American grappling and MMA names of the last twenty years. Few inland Norwegian instructors carry a comparable American-coast lineage.
The result is a small but distinctive room: Globetrotters-flavoured, no-gi-friendly, and shaped by a head instructor whose own jiu-jitsu was built largely outside the country he now teaches in.
