Øyvind Kjærandsen is a brown belt and no-gi coach at Wulfing Academy Haugesund, active on the Scandinavian competition circuit through 2025. His daily training partners read like a snapshot of Norwegian no-gi: Tommy Langaker, Vegard Randeberg, Espen Mathiesen and the rest of the Wulfing competition group.
That environment shapes him in both directions — as a competitor pushing for results on the Smoothcomp and IBJJF European circuit, and as a coach helping run no-gi sessions for the next layer of students moving up under Langaker.
In a country where high-level no-gi is concentrated in a small number of rooms, Kjærandsen is one of the names inside the room rather than a face passing through it.
