Vinicius 'Vini' Carvalho grew up in Florianópolis and has lived in Norway since 2009. A black belt in the Carlson Gracie → Ricardo Liborio → Eduardo 'Teta' Rios lineage, he is co-owner of Frontline Academy Bergen alongside André 'Fievel' Carvalho, anchoring the western node of the Frontline network.
In 2015 he founded the academy's kids' BJJ programme — at the time one of the few structured children's grappling pipelines in Bergen. A decade later, that programme has fed the academy's adult roster from the bottom up, the kind of slow, generational work that determines what an academy looks like fifteen years out.
Vini Carvalho's contribution to Norwegian BJJ shows up less in podium photographs than in how many lifelong jiu-jitsu people Bergen now has under thirty.
